Procrastinating:
Blogging.
There is a certain span of time [especially when an unexplainable absence has occurred] in which it becomes almost painful to write a blog post about everyday activities. Summarizing over a months worth of potential blog post material [which I gathered but never acted on] wouldn't do said material justice. With that in mind, I decided to use not martha's 'up to' posts as inspiration. Hopefully it will kick start my blogging again.
Mastering:
Cake Decorating.
At the end of January, I completed Wilton's Course 3 by creating a stacked, fondant covered cake with 38 fondant roses [all handmade by yours truly] and butter cream accents.
Sipping:
Teas' Tea.
I simply love tea. Teas' Tea is great because it's high in antioxidants while unsweetened and calorie-free. It's all natural a brewed with premium loose tea leaves. My favorites are Pure Green and Green White.
Listening:
Juno.
I saw Juno on Christmas Day solely for the music. The soundtrack has been pumping through my headphones since the moment I got the CD [and uploaded it to my iTunes]. I love love love Kimya Dawson and adore her part in the Juno soundtrack.
Buying:
Polaroid Film.
I finally thrifted a decent Polaroid Instant Camera a few months back only to find out from a Washington Post article that "Polaroid is dropping the technology it pioneered long before digital photography rendered instant film obsolete to all but a few nostalgia buffs." I've been buying Polaroid Instant film every chance I see it. Perhaps I'm just one of the 'few nostalgia buffs' but I love Polaroids. Not to mention, Joe and I are planning on having a Polaroid guest 'book' at our wedding.
Visiting:
Virginia Beach.
Joe and I are planning to get married in Virginia Beach. Lately, that's what our visits have been centered around. I don't know if I've made it [in any way] obvious or clear but Joe and I have been having a hell of a time figuring out and deciding on the major details of our wedding. Potential dates, locations and 'themes' have been haunting us [mostly me]. I am details oriented and tend to plan every detail to any event idea we come up with. The problem is that the first few [ten plus] date and location ideas we went through didn't pan out.
On Sunday, Joe and I [together with our parents] stumbled into Lesner Inn Catering Club after a casual lunch at Bubba's. We were lucky enough to get a detailed tour of the facilities. We loved the view of Lynnhaven Inlet from the Waterside Deck and requested information on open dates in June and July. Next weekend, on our Virginia Beach visit, we will get the date and location written in stone [finally].
Designing:
Wedding Website.
With Joe being a talented programmer/web developer, I thought it would only be fitting for us to create our own wedding website. We bought a simple and [somewhat catchy] domain name last week and I can't wait to get started. On this project, I will design the layout and look of the site while also handling all photos and graphics. I [basically] get to play with Photoshop the whole time. Fun times!
Needing/Wanting:
iPhone.
I need a new phone stat! My current [Verizon] phone plan ends this month [sometime]. I've been using one of the free phones they offer with the purchase of a new plan for 2 years now. It is no longer reliable to consitantly hold charge, stay on, or function under regular [even light] phone usage conditions. On top of that, I only have a car charger and I don't own a car.
I want want want an iPhone. Although I've never been a phone person and always seem to be at a loss for words, I feel as though I somehow deserve the technology iPhone offers. I keep imagining how much easier life [keeping in touch, planning a wedding, and other shananagains] would be if I had a reliable phone with internet and email access available at the swoooosh of a finger.
Celebrating:
Losing 25 lbs.
With visions of wedding dresses dancing in my head, I've managed to lose 25 pounds since Thanksgiving. Yay! *doing the cabbage patch*
